A training course specifically designed to focus on the following areas in the vehicle refinishing process:

  • – The understanding of advanced colour matching techniques;
  • – Application of new & revolutionary colours that require unique application methods;
  • – IT training on colour matching tools & programs such as Automatchic Vision etc; &
  • – IT training on various management, WIP, stock control and other tools available.

The course can be supplemented with the ‘Autowave MM 2.0’ modular training course.

Autobase Plus & Autocryl Plus

Advanced solventborne application techniques and training

This course provides trainees with comprehensive detail regarding product knowledge, application processes and solventborne-specific refinishing techniques required to achieve the best colour accuracy, product coverage and high-quality finishes from the Sikkens solvent range of products.

The two-day course, specifically focuses on basecoat, topcoat and clearcoat application techniques, associated with solventborne repairs.

Specific emphasis on product selection based on the repair environment and the dynamics of various repairs is undertaken.

The course can be combined with our other modular training courses such as ‘Preparation & Priming’ to provide the trainee with an entire overview of the basics of car refinishing.

Autowave MM 2.0

Comprehensive waterborne application training

The Autowave MM 2.0 training course aims to equip trainees with the correct product knowledge, application procedures and waterborne-specific refinishing techniques required to achieve the best colour accuracy, product coverage and premium finish possible.

The in depth four-day course addresses a variety of topics theoretically and practically, from health and safety in the work place, preparation and priming techniques and other basics of car refinishing. Specific emphasis is placed on advanced basecoat and clearcoat application techniques in the Autowave MM 2.0 waterborne range.

The importance of upholding warranty-approved practices in all steps of the refinishing process is highlighted and emphasised.

The course can be supplemented with the ‘Advanced Colouristics, MXP & IT’ modular training course.

As with the ‘Autobase Plus & Autocryl Plus’ training course, this training course provides trainees with comprehensive detail regarding product knowledge, application processes and solventborne-specific refinishing techniques required to achieve the best colour accuracy, product coverage and high-quality finishes from the economical Dynacoat solvent range of products.

The two-day course, specifically focuses on basecoat, topcoat and clearcoat application techniques, associated with Dynacoat solventborne repairs.

Specific emphasis on product selection based on the repair environment and the dynamics of various repairs is undertaken.

The course can be combined with our other modular training courses such as ‘Preparation & Priming’ to provide the trainee with an entire overview of the basics of car refinishing.

Preparation & Priming

Problem identification, prevention and rectification

The Preparation & Priming training course is a modular programme that can either be undertaken on its own, or supplemented with the ‘Autobase Plus & Autocryl Plus’ or ‘Basecoat Pro & 2K Topcoat Pro’ training programmes.

The two-day course specifically focuses on the various facets associated with preparation and priming function in the bodyshop, and the importance thereof in the overall repair.

The following topics among others are addressed theoretically and practically:
– The importance of health & safety and the impact on the overall repair.
– The various steps in the preparation and priming process and the expected outcomes.
– The correct product selection at each stage in the process and application methods.
– Factors to consider in the repair (size, type of substrates etc).
– Correct primer application and sanding techniques.
– Etc.

VB-401-T-1601 Volkswagen Training

VW specified car refinishing training

This is a dedicated Volkswagen training course that places specific emphasis on the basics of car refinishing together with the VW Warranty Repair Process.

Similar to the ‘Autowave MM 2.0’ training course, this course covers a variety of modules including:
– Health & safety.
– The VW warranty repair process.
– Authorised product portfolio and correct product selection.
– Preparation and paint application.
– Blending & spot repairs techniques.
– Advanced plastic preparation and painting.
– Problem identification, rectification and prevention.

The in depth four-day course addresses the above topics theoretically and practically amongst others.

As part of the course trainees undertake a practical and theoretical examination.
